Kings Vs. Blackhawks Game 16: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch
It’s easy to pre-scout a team when you played them a week ago.
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Kings have a chance for payback tonight. In a rematch of last Thursday's matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Kings will be hoping to re-discover their offense. The LA Kings are 3-2 in their last five, still searching for consistent play early in the season.
Puck drops at 7:30 at Crypto.com Arena.
The Blackhawks are 1-5 in their last six games. That one win came against the Kings, off a Jonathan Toews overtime game-winner. The dynamic duo of Toews and Patrick Kane still lead this Blackhawks team. With Toews leading them in goals (7-2-9) and Kane leading in points (2-8-10).
It's easy to pre-scout a team when you played them a week ago. With just seven days separating the two games, the Kings can be confident in their assessment of the Blackhawks.
"They played one game since the overtime loss in Chicago, they went to Winnipeg," said Todd McLellan. "I don't think there's a team in the league who's going to recreate their identity in one week, it's impossible. They have structure, they have a new coach, and they're more likely polishing what they want to do. We should have a good idea of what some of their tactics are. We'll present that to the team, using as much information from our game in Chicago versus our game in Winnipeg. But there are always little tidbits you can take from the most recent game."
If it ain't broke don't fix it. That's McLellan's idea with lines right now. Keeping them the same again tonight after back-to-back wins. Going with Jonathan Quick in net after his 21-save shutout against the Minnesota Wild.
