Stano’s Daily: USA Eliminated & Dallas Survives

After a disappointing end to their season with the Ontario Reign, Cal Petersen and T.J. Tynan experienced some more disappointment at the World Championships.

Team USA was eliminated on Saturday in an agonizing overtime loss against Germany.

Tynan registered zero points in the game and Petersen backed up Casey DeSmith.

The loss also means all of the Los Angeles Kings’ representatives in this tournament failed to meet expectations. With Kevin Fiala and Carl Grundstrom both knocked out in the first round.

Dallas  Survives:

The Dallas Stars staved off elimination again on Saturday, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in Vegas.

Ty Dellandrea was the hero for Dallas scoring twice in the third period to get them over the line.

It was retribution for Dellandrea who was a healthy scratch in Games one and two for this series.

No team’s comeback from down 3-0 past the second round, so Dallas still has a long way to go, but they aren’t out yet.

Game Six is Monday in Dallas.
