Breaking: Change to Kings Broadcast Team

The Los Angeles Kings dropped a bombshell Monday morning.

Per King’s communications, the Kings will move to a singular broadcast team for television and radio for the 2023-24 season.

With Nick Nickson as the play-by-play announcer, Jim Fox as the analyst and Daryl Evans as an on-air personality.

Because of this, Alex Faust has been informed that his contract as a play-by-play analyst will not be renewed.

The team added that they have no information on a future rightsholder partnership or distribution agreement. And said that information on the 2023-24 broadcast will be released closer to the start of the season.

Faust spent six years with the organization, taking on the impossible task of replacing a legend in Bob Miller.

Faust did the job admirably and was one of the nicest people in the building. Fortunately for Alex, I’m sure it won’t take him long to find a new job.

On the positive side, more Nick Nickson and Daryl Evans is never a bad thing. And the return of Fox is always a big positive.

With uncertainty surrounding the future of the Kings’ broadcast, my number one hope is that it becomes easier for Los Angeles residents to watch the Kings moving forward.
